Mission of the Faculty of Nursing

Mission of the Faculty of Nursing

We train professionals in general medical assistance, radiology and imaging, balneophysiokinetotherapy and rehabilitation, nutrition and dietetics. The educational and scientific research mission of the Faculty of Nursing is to prepare specialists in these fields, in accordance with the legal provisions regarding the practice of the licensed general medical assistant profession (COR Code 222101), licensed physiotherapist (COR Code 226402), licensed radiology and imaging technician (COR Code 226928), licensed nutritionist and dietitian (COR Code 226503), who provide treatment and care services to individuals who are physically or mentally ill.

Graduates of the General Medical Assistance program take responsibility for planning, managing, and evaluating patient care, including supervising other healthcare workers. They work autonomously or in teams with doctors and other professionals in the practical implementation of preventive and curative measures.
Graduates will be able to meet the health maintenance needs of beneficiaries both within the country and across the entire European Union, as well as outside of it, by knowing and applying the specific process of medical assistance. They will also be able to train specialists with skills in healthcare research, which will elevate these professions to the level of science.
In the curriculum of the BFKT program, both fundamental and clinical biomedical sciences are integrated, with integration occurring both horizontally (concurrent) and vertically (sequentially).
They provide care for patients with disabilities, as well as for other individuals who require care due to potential health risks.
The structure for curriculum management is based on information from the environment in which the graduate is expected to carry out their activities. The study program allows graduates to enter the labor market in positions that match the qualification obtained. Graduates of the study program have a clearly defined perspective on their occupation in the labor market.
The educational requirements of the labor market are represented by professional and transversal competencies, as well as the skills that graduates must acquire throughout the educational process; these are outlined as objectives of the educational process.
The Radiology and Imaging study program is a regulated profession across the European Union. The Health field, which includes the Radiology and Imaging study program, aims to train technicians in radiology and imaging. The theoretical knowledge, as well as the practical skills acquired within the program, are tailored to the needs of integration into the labor market and will enable graduates to carry out their activities in public/private medical units both within the country and abroad.
The Nutrition and Dietetics study program aims to train specialists in the fields of nutrition, dietetics, eating behavior, and food safety, with extensions into the areas of prevention, dietary therapy, and post-surgical recovery, ensuring food quality and promoting health within the community. The nutritionist/dietitian plays a key role in maintaining health, physical performance, preventing and treating various conditions, community education, the development of public health policies, food service management, food quality expertise, and consumer information.
We train specialists who care for individuals through a comprehensive and holistic approach.
All the arguments, provided from the perspective of the necessity/opportunity of qualification in relation to the labor market and its relevance to the long-term needs of young people, form a strong case for the undergraduate study programs within the Faculty of Nursing.
Graduates of all study programs can enroll in master's degree studies or postgraduate courses organized by the faculty or the university.
