Pharmacy specialization was founded in 1996 in the Faculty of Medicine of Craiova, becoming Faculty of Pharmacy in 1998, with the founding of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova.

Faculty of Pharmacy mission can be summarized as follows:
- University training of pharmaceutical sciences in accordance with the current level of knowledge;

After graduation, Faculty graduates have multiple possibilities, which can act as pharmacists in hospital pharmacies, public pharmacies, pharmaceutical warehouses, as medical representatives, as well as researchers in the pharmaceutical institutions.

University degree in the field of Pharmacy - regulated sector university courses with a duration of five years.
The study is divided by years, each year being attributed 60 credits (ECTS), graduates having the right to free practice immediately after the license exam.
Residency - theoretical and practical training in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Laboratory, lasting three years
Masters - Masters Degrees in "Pharmacology and Toxicology", lasting a year, 60 credits
PhD - studies in form of budget or toll
Continuing pharmaceutical education - postgraduate courses in pharmaceutical and medical specialties
